you need to select one of the major theories (psychoanalysis, behaviorism, cognitive theory, social learning theory, and humanism). Select one of the major theorists from these theories and explain his or her theory. You can then describe the theory’s strengths and weaknesses. For example, you can pick behaviorism, define it, describe Skinner’s operant conditioning, and its strengths (i.e. shows the importance of reinforcement and punishment in developing behavior) and weaknesses (i.e. theory does not explain how cognitive processes are involved in behavior).
