THE QUEEN

I am the queenI am sitting on the throne

I am a fierce and brave ruler

I am a symbol of strength, hope and courage

I am loving my people and my country

I am the queen

I am a symbol of beauty

I am stunning and majestic

I am a role model to young girls

I am devoted and loyal

I am compassionate and caring

I am the queen

I am a woman of determination

I am a woman of grace and power

I am a woman who knows her worth

I am always coming out victorious

I am an inspiration to us all

I am the queen

THE POSSIBILITIES OF CHILDHOOD

“What happened to the last two days and what did I do?”

I can’t remember anything and I’m starting to freak out

I remember when I was small, I would sit in my room and play

I would pretend that I was a princess and my toys were my friends

Those were the days When I was carefree and happy

Now I’m all grown up and those days are gone

But I’ll never forget the happiness I found in my childhood imaginations

When the world was my oyster and I had endless possibilities.

The night sky is so dark with their sharp light

And the stars are so bright they seem to pierce my heart

Blue like the sky, red like a rose, white like the snow

A rose by any other name would smell better

In my dream I am flying, I am soaring through the sky

My great uncle was the pain I had, he was emotional and physical

He was the last extreme pain I had and he died last year.

I miss him so much, and I think about him every day.

I wish we could have talked one last time, but I know he’s listening from a better place now.

You know the forbidden thought I had, so hard to keep these thoughts inside

The one that has been on my mind for weeks, months, years maybe?

And all the things we could do If only we didn’t have to pretend

The one I can’t get away from you no matter how much I try.

It’s a forbidden thought, I know it well, to want to be somebody else,

To want to be free, to want to be happy, to want to be me.

You wouldn’t understand, you’d never know, how it feels to be caged,

To be trapped in a body, to be told you’re not good enough.
