Question: Informed by the DELL case study, discuss the application of EA in the context of a process, a discipline and a description. (30 marks)

Tips: Students will conduct a search of literature on various types of EA terminologies, frameworks, models and approaches that can be used to align enterprise’s IT architecture with Business model strategy in order to achieve enterprise business goals. The program planning report will also include discussions of literature based concepts of the various types of frameworks and approaches that could be used to align enterprise’s IT architecture with business model strategy in order to achieve enterprise business goals.

Specifically the assignment focuses on the “What”, “Why” and “How” aspects of an Agile EA and its underlying fundamental concept, principle of practice and theoretical complexity issues. In particular, the assignment also requires students to prove critically thinking about the relationship among enterprise IT architecture and business strategic and operation goals. Students should understand how various factors influence formulation and subsequent implementation of enterprise architecture in organizations. Students are required to consult prescribed e-text books, you-tube and tutorial class presentation materials, published EA articles in the literature, electronic sources on enterprise architecture management.
