When an organization looks to develop its talent pool, it wants to select talent that will be a good fit. An organization’s criteria for potential talent might be a strong academic background, years of experience, communication skills, people skills, computer skills, or language proficiency, to name a few. Different organizations have varying criteria they want their potential employees to possess.

For this week’s Application Assignment, you will again select an organization with which you are familiar or that offers easily accessible public information.

In a 1- to 2-page paper, address the following:

• What are five criteria you might use if you were recruiting the best talent for the talent pool of the organization you have chosen?
• Why did you select those criteria?
• Does this process differ when looking for leadership vs. nonleadership positions?
• Is it better to recruit leadership internally or externally?
