The SLP for this course is based on a manufacturing company of your choice. The facility employs at least 75 workers. You are the Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Manager for this company. Your task is to develop aspects of a health and safety program that addresses worker injury and illness prevention, as well as environmental health and safety protection.
The Centers for Diseases Control (CDC) and Prevention has designed a six-step model for conducting program evaluation. It is described in Healey, B.J. Walker, K.T. (2009), on page 271 and Figure 15.1. Apply the CDC model to this scenario and identify the six steps you would follow for evaluating the effectiveness of the injury and illness prevention program in the occupational setting you chose for your SLP. For each step, explain the process and illustrate how you would evaluate your program, with specific examples.
