INTRODUCTION: Introduce the controversial nursing ethics issue that you have been assigned. Why is this topic controversial? Topic is Health care for undocumented immigrants in U.S
THE POSITIVE ARGUMENT: Here you lay out at least three of the major assertions and accompanying evidence used in the literature to argue in favor of the position on the controversial nursing ethics issue.
Assertion I: Present your first assertion.
Evidence I: Present the evidence in support of Assertion I.
Use this same format for Assertions and Evidence II and III.
A note on assertions: Short assertions are often more easily defended than longer, more complex assertions. Good assertions are falsifiable in principle, i.e., they can be tested, and we will know if they are wrong.
A note on evidence: Be sure that the evidence you use speaks directly to the assertion and meets the conditions of a good argument: the evidence must be adequate, relevant, and succinct.
OPPOSING SIDE OF THE ARGUMENT: Follow the same process as for the Positive Argument. There should be one opposing argument for each positive argument.
Introduction: Introduce the general subject area and then narrow the focus to the specific issue or problem area to be addressed. Introduce what the paper will be covering.
2.Background:Provide enough additional background material to acquaint the reader with the importance of the issue or problem area addressed.
3.Describe why the issue or problem is unique and/or the focus on the problem is timely. Defend why the problem is a priority to nursing and how resolving it will contribute to improved nursing practice/patient care.
4.State the first assertion. The assertion should be falsifiable. Summarize the information in the literature used to support this assertion.
5.State the second assertion. The assertion should be falsifiable. Summarize the information in the literature used to support this assertion.
6.State the third assertion. The assertion should be falsifiable. Summarize the information used in the literature to support this assertion.
7.State an assertion against Assertion I. The assertion should be falsifiable. Summarize information in the literature to support this assertion.
8.State an assertion against Assertion II. The assertion should be falsifiable. Summarize information in the literature to support this assertion.
9.State an assertion against Assertion III. The assertion should be falsifiable. Summarize information in the literature to support this assertion.
10.Review the assertions and counter assertions from the literature. What are your determinations regarding the logic and strength of the various arguments? Where do you stand on the issue? my stance is support health care for the undocumented immigrants
Here are 2 assertions that I have so far. The first assertion is the cost for caring uninsured immigrants is economically devastating to the health care system . For the this assertion use articles that I will send regarding cost of preventative care and prenatal care.
Second assertion is lack of access to health care increases disparity and equality. It is a human right to have access to basic care. For the second assertion use article on self prescribing medication Latino community is using and impact lack of prenatal has on society.
The legal issue in not providing health care to the undocumented is Justice, being fair to all. This paper is due on Monday noon. I will attach all the articles I searched. For the third assertion can you send me an e-mail what you think.
