This paper should be a combination of your first part of the formal paper, with whatever edits you choose to make, plus 3 to 5 newpages that consider American foreign policy in the last 50 years. The paper you hand in should be between 6 and 10 pages, depending on the length of your first and second parts, combined. Please remember to bring your graded first paper and hand that in with this final paper as well.

Since the end of the Cold War, the Collapse of the Soviet Union, and current War on Terror, has the United States followed the advice that George Washington provided during his Farewell Address in 1796 (this is the advice you described in the first part of the paper). You may argue that this has changed one or more times in the last 50 years. You may also argue that some parts have been followed and others abandoned, but be sure to explain which parts were saved or abandoned. In addition, you may consider whether America should be following Washington’s advice in 2019, or if America’s situation is so different now that his advice is no longer appropriate.

You must also provide evidence and examples to support your conclusions on this and therefore MUST provide a bibliography of every source you’ve used AND citations within the paper to show which information came from which sources.

Don’t forget to consult your first paper and the comments I’ve included to both fix any portions of that paper as you include it in this one, and to include those new practices for what you’re writing this time, and to bring the first paper with you to class to hand in with the final paper.
