Background Information: For this course project assignment, you will create a lesson plan with the goal of increasing English language learners’ oral fluency.
Oral fluency is using spoken words to express knowledge, ideas, and feelings. Developing English language learners’ oral fluency means developing the skills and knowledge that provides the foundation for their listening, speaking, and writing. Some activities that aim to increase oral fluency are ones that can include opportunities for children to hear a range of texts read fluently and with expression, activities that provide re-readings of the same story or text and low-stress opportunities for children to practice new skills.
