Discuss one of the issues UGESP covers and how it affects the selection program? One of the issues UGESP covers regards the scope of the selection procedures. The section covers “application of guidelines, employment decisions, and selection procedure guidelines” (2015). This affects the selection program through enforcement and compliance of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Opportunity Act’s amendment of 1972. Such guideline decisions are used as a basis for making employment decisions. Employment decisions include but are not limited to “hiring, promotion, demotion, membership, referral, retention, licensing and certification, recruitment, and even training or transfer” (2015).
