LLCF requests Mini-Grant Proposals for up to $500 to support promising projects showcased on these sites. Each Mini-Grant Proposal should be no longer than one page (single spaced, no smaller than 11pt font, and with one-inch page margins) and should contain three sections:

1. OVERVIEW: This section should provide a clear and succinct description of the proposed project in 75 words or less.

2. JUSTIFICATION: This section should provide a careful and detailed justification for the proposed project. Key concepts from development economics should be incorporated in the discussion of the potential of the proposed project to reduce poverty and succeed as a development intervention that benefits specific families and/or children. This section should also discuss possible spillover benefits to those who are not direct beneficiaries (i.e., who else may benefit from this project and how?). Most successful development projects benefit specific families and children—either directly or indirectly. While proposed projects need not target children explicitly, clear justification should be provided that addresses how the proposed project will benefit children. It is recommended to include discussion of the overall cost-effectiveness of the project (i.e., the expected impact of the project relative to its costs) as part of the justification.

3. BUDGET & ADMINISTRATION: This section should include the proposed budget (up to $500) and a brief evaluation of the project sponsor or partner organization (e.g., microfinance institution, NGO, etc.). Be specific about why this sponsor or partner has been chosen. In order to be specific, additional background research on the organization may be required. This section should be 100 words or less.
