As I understand Information Technology, it is a form of study that involves techniques and methodologies using computer systems and other software or networks for storing, retrieving, and sending information. Information Technology has developed tremendously from the 90’s and the advancements that IT has achieved can be seen in both the business and social communities. Through the continual advancement of information technology (IT), its advancement has swayed every aspect of human life. Acting as facilitators in a mechanical insurgency, IT and knowledge management have affected almost every province of social life (Kima, Paikb, & Leec, 2014). Moreover, IT has been looked upon as a means for cultivating managerial productivity in both public and private organizations (Kima, Paikb, & Leec, 2014).

So where does E-Commerce fit into the picture of technology? It is easy to define E-Commerce, it simply refers to purchases and/or sale of merchandise or services through electronic networks such as the internet. E-commerce connected to IT and knowledge management will only enhance a business in today’s economic arena because it allows an organization to reach far beyond its immediate community, tap into resources beyond its normal reach, and strategically map its productivity and course while better understanding its competitive community.

When looking through the telescope of time, it seems as if progression continues the route it is currently on, online shopping will replace the number of times people will travel to the store. This effect is hypothesized from the conception that since consumers are able to conduct all stages of the shopping process without leaving home, and when these transactions, which are made online, home delivery will replace instore shopping (Rotem-mindali & Weltevreden, 2013).E-Commerce effects many things beyond the way people shop. It effects everything from gas prices to social gatherings.

In the religious sector, Christians who are exposed to social media have great opportunities to pour into social media the Word, will, and way of God. The opportunity for ministering on a broad spectrum is endless. Moreover, live streaming allows pastors to take on global ministries and expand their congregation way beyond the four walls of the church. Counseling, Bible study, and prayer sessions can now be conducted without anyone having to leave their homes because Skype allows such communication to take place. The progress of information technology brings progression into many of areas of life, from professional to social to spiritual.
