With-in my organization there are many hierarchical departments in the CPD. The management over sees what we are doing at each location and makes sure that we are meeting their expectations. In each location is a supervisor, this person is in charge of making sure that the managements expectations are being met but also the leader of the park. According to Daft, “Leadership promotes vision and change. Questioning the status quo and being willing to take responsible risks so that outdated, unproductive, or socially irresponsible norms can be replaced to meet new challenges” (501). My supervisor is in charge of motivating us to excel in our classes and to also think outside of the box when coming up with new classes and curriculum. Just recently my Supervisor had a meeting with myself and my other employees in regards of some low enrollment classes. She wanted us to think of some ways to get more children enrolled and asked what some of our suggestions were. Here we were able to come up with different ideas and ways that we might have never thought of before. I believe that my current and previous supervisors with the parks has been an interactive leader. Each Supervisor that I have worked with has shown generosity with all of their staff, patience to teach staff and help them when needed, and guide them to their full potential. With the guidance and responsibilities that I have been given from my leaders it has helped me grow and become the employee that I am today.
