Performance Model Development and Application in Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG)

Objective

Review the flexible and rigid pavement design procedures used in the MEPDG that have been using design input and performance data.

Understand how the various performance models were developed, including modeling methodology, data source, parameter estimation method, scope and limits of model applications.

Evaluate the differences in MEPDG performance models in both flexible and rigid pavements. 

Determine whether the calibrated performance models used in MEPDG provide reasonable predictions of actual performance.
