Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to develop skills in applying theories and models of trauma counselling to a case study, and develop an intervention plan.
Process:  Choose a character from one contemporary films that experiences a traumatic event. The character must be from a different cultural background to you. Create a case study based on the film Railway Man
Your case study will need to address: · a discussion on the evidence based treatment interventions recommended for the trauma the client has experienced. Include in your discussion both the theoretical and practice elements recommended in the relevant literature

• a discussion on the cross cultural counselling elements you would need to consider if you were to counsel the client
• a discussion of challenges or barriers you would face in counselling the client, including your current levels of experience, referral etc · reference to current literature and integration of relevant theory into your discussion
