The assignment for this course requires in-depth, original research of a contem-

porary painter or issue in contemporary painting culminating in a 1,000 – 1,500 word pa-

per. Your final paper should build on what you have learned in this course, and include

your analysis of how your artist’s career can be read through, or against, the themes

and theories we will address over the semester. Your final paper should include an

analysis of individual paintings, and must be accompanied by illustrations and a bibliog-

raphy.

Use the art piece called “May I help you'” by artist andrea fraser and other art works mentioned in the reading as an example and the concept of “parole” and ‘language” (mentioned in the reading That I provide to you) to talk about How artists use artistic “parole” to better translate their works, and also the relationship and the similarity between translate language to language and translate art work to the people don’t quite know about art by artist’s work itself.
