Data collection between both methods are similar in that, they both use interviews and observations however ethnography also uses examination of documents and artifacts (Hasa, 2017). Another difference between both methods includes the length of study. Ethnography may take a very long time to complete the study whereas the phenomenological study may have a shorter research period (Hasa, 2017).
