Discuss the dilemma arising from the following situations and tell me what you would do as a nurse:
1. You are instructed to discharge a patient whose care is no longer being reimbursed, but who you know is not ready for discharge.
2. Your 78 year old patient has a living will stating he does not want to be put on any life-support machines. He is in intensive care and his oxygen level drops to dangerously low levels. The doctor comes in and proceeds to intubate the patient and place him on a respirator.
There are two part of the question : discussion about the issue and what should you do as a nurse. Approximate one page for each question please Please use resource related to nursing article or healthcare professional and it is no later than 5 years. Thank you!
